We have an existing opportunity to add a Claims Adjuster Trainee to join our team. Reporting to one of our Branch Managers, the key focus of this position is to start your career in claims and develop in a mentorship environment the skills required for the investigation, adjustment, and examination of multi-line claims at a junior level. You will work in a Hybrid based environment supporting field requests within the Whitehorse area.
Claimspro is a technology enabled, paperless environment and all matters are managed electronically. The Adjuster Trainee will enter into a period of structured training to obtain the skills required to be successful in a career in claims.
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that provides quality service to internal and external clients. They will display excellent customer service skills and will be a key contributor to the success of the organization by providing knowledgeable, detailed, and timely service.

Job Responsibilities
- Handing, investigation and management of claims
- Review coverages, limitations, warranties, and requirements
- Ensure appropriate coverage is in place
- Follow guidelines and instructions
- Prepare documents and mandatory forms as required
- Manage a case load of claim matters in compliance with KPIs and SLAs
- Manage reserves, payments, and financials
- Provide a high level of customer service to all stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Builder or construction experience is a definite asset
- Ability to be obtain an adjusters license
- Previously demonstrated ability to execute high attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities and proven organizational skills
- Demonstrated behaviors showing initiative and follow-up skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and work ethic
- Proven ability to contribute to and work well with a team environment
- All other computer applications – must have the aptitude and ability to learn as required

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing forensic fire investigations to determine the origin and cause for structure and vehicle fires. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs is a must. Good presentation skills are an asset. Role Responsibilities:
- Assess, analyze and research cause and origin of fires where electrical components and equipment are involved
- Interview witnesses, service personnel and other local officials
- Inspections shall include, but not be limited to, roofs, attics, crawlspaces, partially destroyed buildings, fire damaged buildings, and elevated structures
- Experience determining product design, defects, and electrical forensic failure analysis
- Experience investigating electrical and mechanical equipment’s such as air conditioners, power saws, refrigerators, power drills, elevator controllers, elevators, escalators etc.
- Able to recognize potential subrogation opportunities
- The ability to climb, work at heights, and work at all temperatures is required
- The ability to assess the general safety of fire damaged structures is essential
- Lead projects from start to finish
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely reports
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduating/recent graduate/engineer-in-training with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Licensure in a provincial Engineering Association, or ability to become licensed a must
- Must have valid G license, and ability to work in remote areas, as well as in a range of temperatures and weather conditions.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good command of the English language.
- Experience within the insurance and legal industry is an asset
- A demonstrated track record of taking projects to successful completion
- Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook & Excel)
- A willingness and passion to learn
- A willingness to support the marketing and sales department through attendance at presentations and industry events

The Claims Adjuster actively adjusts claims while ensuring that business development opportunities are maximized. This involves marketing and follow-up of opportunities in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities

Prompt contact and follow up with policy holders and claimants.

Investigate the cause and report to clients with solid recommendations.

Using supplied technology (e.g., Docusketch.), scope and establish quantum of damages

Identify exposures, recommend reserves, recommend investigation required for exposure, prepare action plans, and negotiate fair and satisfactory settlements.

Throughout the claims process, you will provide high level of customer service to clients and the insured.

Qualifications and Experience:
