Role Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Reporting Analyst in our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Divisional Controller, you will play a key role by contributing to achieving the goals of the department and division. In addition to day-to-day data entry support and monthly journal entries, this position will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliation, preparation and distribution management reports and budgets while ensuring accuracy and consistency as well as making recommendations for improvement in financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Strategy, Plans, Budget (25% Time Allocation)
- Annual budget and monthly forecasting process.
- Acts as a signing authority on corporate bank accounts.
- Lead / participate in corporate and operational projects including process improvement projects, software upgrades etc.
- Ensuring that the decision makers in the firm understand the financial implications of the missions and direction they set for their division. Specifically ensure that business plans for both existing initiatives and new initiatives meet minimum ROI expectations.
- Participate in monthly operational touchpoints with key leaders to help maintain communication and accurate financial information.
People & Processes (20% Time Allocation)
- Regular performance feedback and recommendation for corrective activities as required.
- Participate in change management, with opportunities to lead where appropriate.
- Ensure processes are reviewed. Opportunities for improvement identified and put forth as recommendations to your Divisional Controller
- Participate in rollout of new processes and protocols. and clearly documented/communicated to staff.
Accounting (55% Time Allocation)
- Assist in providing accounting analysis to support management in strategic decision making using initiative and senior level experience to target appropriate areas for review and redress.
- Completes commission calculations as required.
- Complete accurate month-end journal entries.
- Complete general account reconciliations.
- Publish and distribute financial information within Corporate timelines.
- Prepare and improve Management reports for monthly financial meetings.
- Responsible for month end processing and cut-off activities.
- OLAP cube data maintenance.
- Management Reporter/Adaptive security maintenance.
- Assist in managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data for applicable business divisions.
- Assist with statistical analysis, period variance analysis and budget variance analysis.
- Assist with preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements.
- Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with preparation for year-end audit.

Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary education in Accounting.
- CPA in progress/has recently wrote the CFE, or fully designated CPA is a must.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- 3-5+ years of related operational experience.
- Your track record of experience providing smart, timely reporting to senior management.
- Great Plains or other related ERP experience is an asset.
- Experience with Power BI is an asset.'

Overview

Job Responsibilities:
- Initiate the investigation of new residential and commercial property claims
- Make coverage opinions and decisions based on client need
- Evaluate and negotiate settlements of specified perils, property damage, and property damage liability losses as appropriate.
- Manage and oversee the work of outside business partners, experts and contractors
- Establish contact with the insured and claimant within established protocol.

The Adjuster actively adjusts claims while ensuring that business development opportunities are maximized. This involves marketing and follow-up of opportunities in a timely manner.
Qualifications, Experience & Details:
- Earnings may vary depending on billings
- The ideal candidate should have experience in Property Claims or Multi-Line Claims at least one of these areas: Property, Liability, Accident & Benefits. Bodily Injury claims
- University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance
- Minimum of 3 year’s experience
- Adjuster’s license, or currently pursuing CIP designation
- Equivalency in combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Ongoing commitment to education and learning.
- Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause-and-effect dynamics
- Good investigative manner
- Able to draw valid conclusions and effectively communicate them.
- Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature, perform and understand advanced numerical calculations including analysis of comparative information.
- Advanced communication skills including:
- Effective written skills including those of a technical nature
- Effective oral skills, including listening, interviewing, negotiating, must be able to flex style appropriate to audience.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities in an effective manner.
- Proactive and positive approach to customer service ensuring that all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills allowing you to effectively deal with conflict and difficult situations.

Role Summary
Provide immediate and customer-focused assistance to policyholders who are calling to report insurance claims. Document initial loss details and activities to ensure that callers experience timely and service oriented disposition of calls. Make determination based on protocol if immediate adjuster attention is required and coordinate with vendors as required.
* Please note that this position requires shift work on a seven (7) day rotating basis between the hours of 12AM to 8AM * Training will take place between 4pm to 12am for 3-4 weeks. *Only candidates fully bilingual in French and English will be considered *This is a full-time opportunity, and will require 37.5 hours of work per week. * In order to work remotely, you will require High Speed Internet. (Download and Upload speed must both be at a minimum of 50 mbps)
** Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully completed the following Insurance Institute courses - Essentials of Loss Adjusting (C110), Automobile (C14), Property (C12) and Principles and Practices (C11) **
** Training will be in office, however, you can continue to work shifts remotely in your home once trained**

Responsibilities • Review ECS call report and ensure call has terminated properly and forward accurate and complete call reports as required. • Provide personalized customer service of the highest level • Arrange for the dispatch of adjusters or vendor partners when required • Field and answer branch inquiries and administer to ECS menu • Maintain data base of service lapses reference for root cause, report trends and make recommendations to management • Review claim information to determine proper next steps for processing against client guidelines/ service agreements
Education, knowledge and experience required • Post secondary education • Minimum 1 year administrative experience • Knowledge of insurance/service industry or related experience preferred • Strong computer and telephone skills with an aptitude/ability to learn • Effective communication skills both written and verbal in English and French • Attention to detail
