A Desktop adjuster is responsible for: - Reviewing Documentation: Examine policyholder statements, police reports, repair estimates, photographs, and third-party inspection reports to ensure all information is accurate and complete
- Determining Coverage: Interpret insurance policy terms, conditions, and exclusions to decide whether a claim is covered and the extent of the insurer’s financial responsibility
- Claim Resolution: Communicate with policyholders via phone, email, or video conferencing to explain coverage decisions, settle claims, and expedite payments
- Collaboration: Work with field adjusters who provide on-site inspection reports, contractors, and other stakeholders to finalize claims efficiently
- Administrative Tasks: Document all communications, update claim files, and maintain accurate records in claims management software such as Xactimate
- Customer Service: Respond to inquiries, provide guidance, and ensure timely contact with claimants throughout the claims process
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should have experience in Personal and/or Commercial lines Auto Property Damage (PD). Qualifications & Experience
University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance.

Responsibilities • Review call report and ensure call has terminated properly and forward accurate and complete call reports as required. • Provide personalized customer service of the highest level • Arrange for the dispatch of adjusters or vendor partners when required • Field and answer branch inquiries and administer to menu • Maintain data base of service lapses reference for root cause, report trends and make recommendations to management • Review claim information to determine proper next steps for processing against client guidelines/ service agreements
Education, knowledge and experience required • Post secondary education • Minimum 1 year administrative experience • Knowledge of insurance/service industry or related experience preferred • Strong computer and telephone skills with an aptitude/ability to learn • Effective communication skills • Attention to detail

We have an existing opportunity to add a Desktop Property Claims Examiner to our growing team! Attendance to the office a minimum of 1 day per week and as needed for training, client meetings and team meetings is required. They will display excellent customer service skills and will be a key contributor to the success of the organization by providing knowledgeable, detailed and timely service. Utilizing a ‘desktop’ model, IPG examiners manage claims from start to finish. This hands-on approach ensures that the claim is handled properly and helps offset third-party adjusting costs. Role Responsibilities: - Settle claims directly with Insureds or their representatives
- Produce reports with occasional guidance from Manager
- Direct Field Adjusters on task assignment investigations
- Administer claims payments/settlements through trust accounts
- Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure clients’ needs are met
- Report back to the syndicate or self-insured according to their guidelines
Qualifications & Experience: While licensing and experience are critical to being able to handle significant examining tasks for a TPA, we are looking for individuals with a demonstrated and proven track record of performance. You will have to be strong technically, a solid planner and organizer, and understand key issues plus provide solid solutions. You will have to be motivated to do this type of work and be excited by the challenges that a rapidly growing organization faces. - Your completed CIP courses, or working towards CIP designation
