Role Summary: Loss Adjusting is a fast-paced, complex field of insurance with no 2 files quite the same. Whether it be a home fire, a fender-bender, or an injury caused by a major accident, the ClaimsPro team determines coverage, legal liability, and settles claims with excellent customer service.
Salary Range - $35k - $45k per year. This is an in-office role out of our Kelowna location.
ClaimsPro relies on their Administrative Assistants to support the branch staff and producers in the delivery of quality service to our clients.
The key focus of the position is to provide effective and efficient administrative support within a fast-paced environment. The position duties include typing, computer work on our internal software program and MS Office (Excel) file coordination and filing, reception duties and may also provide other administrative and clerical support to various branch staff. Other duties as may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and preparation of new claims assignments to internal adjusters in accordance with predetermined KPI’s and client guidelines,
- A positive, “can do” attitude and customer service approach ensuring all inquiries are effectively dealt with in a timely manner,
- Professional telephone manner and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to problem solve and work well independently and in a team environment,
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to re-prioritize tasks and manage time effectively,
- Team player and excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all individuals in all levels within the organization,
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure in a fast paced and changing environment,
- Maintaining applicable information and data entry within internal claims management software.
- Sending appropriate client acknowledgements, confirmations and correspondences to clients, claimants, legal representatives and parties involved on various claim files,
- Transcribe data from source documents following generally standardized procedures using coding skills and some judgement for review by the adjuster,
- Collating reports and statements
- Processing client invoicing for claims and prepare files for closure,
- Administrative support to the branch manager and administrative supervisor as needed,
- Reception relief answer phones and forward calls in a timely, professional and efficient manner,
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade twelve diploma
- A post-secondary diploma in Office Administration will be given preference
- Insurance industry experience is an asset; preference will be given to those with claims or adjusting experience
- Level 1 Insurance License or completion of courses within CIP Program, also given preference
- Previous experience within a dynamic team will be given preference
- Experience in an administrative support environment is preferred

- Adjuster Performance management through quality assurance reviews and audits, regular adjuster meetings and complaint management
- Weekly review of the operational dashboard KPI targets
- Potential leadership, guidance and mentoring of a dedicated adjusting team
- Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on claims matters and technical issues
- Participation in the RFP process for new business and existing client contract renewals
Qualifications & Experience:
- University Degree and/or CIP/FCIP Designation
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Property & Casualty claims adjusting, multi provincial experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
- Fully licensed in Ontario or ability to be fully licensed in Ontario and other Provinces

We are looking for a Claims Adjuster Trainee to join our team. Reporting to one of our Branch Managers, the key focus of this position is to start your career in claims and develop in a mentorship environment the skills required for the investigation, adjustment, and examination of multi-line claims at a junior level.
Claimspro is a technology enabled, paperless environment and all matters are managed electronically. The Adjuster Trainee will enter into a period of structured training to obtain the skills required to be successful in a career in claims.
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that provides quality service to internal and external clients. They will display excellent customer service skills and will be a key contributor to the success of the organization by providing knowledgeable, detailed, and timely service.

This role requires someone who is well organized with a high attention to detail and who enjoys doing things in a systematic way.

- Effective analytical skills including identification of cause and effect dynamics

Job Responsibilities
- Handing, investigation and management of claims
- Review coverages, limitations, warranties, and requirements
- Ensure appropriate coverage is in place
- Follow guidelines and instructions
- Prepare documents and mandatory forms as required
- Manage a case load of claim matters in compliance with KPIs and SLAs
- Manage reserves, payments, and financials
- Provide a high level of customer service to all stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Builder or construction experience is a definite asset
- Ability to be obtain an adjusters license
- Previously demonstrated ability to execute high attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities and proven organizational skills
- Demonstrated behaviors showing initiative and follow-up skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and work ethic
- Proven ability to contribute to and work well with a team environment
- All other computer applications – must have the aptitude and ability to learn as required
- Valid Driver’s license
